I am laughing at how ironic it is to follow yesterday's "Weight Loss Weekly" with today's "Football food". All things in moderation though, right? These Chili dogs are a take off another recipe from Fix it and Forget it Big Cookbook. Fixing these chili dogs in the crock pot made them a perfect food for grabbing during a commercial break. (Not that I am endorsing eating in front of the T.V., but I know it happens) These were very rich and cheesy. Enjoy!
Crock Pot Chili Dogs adapted from Fix it and Forget it Big Cookbook
Serves 8
1 lb. hot dogs
2 15 oz. cans chili
1 4 oz. can chopped green chilies, in your preferred hotness level
1 15 oz. can Nacho cheese condensed soup
8 hot dog buns
1 chopped onion
Shredded cheddar cheese
corn chips
1. Place hot dogs into the slow cooker insert.
2. Mix together chili, green chilies, Nacho cheese soup and pour over hot dogs.
3. Cover and cook in crock pot on LOW for 3-4 hours.
4. When ready to serve, place a hot dog in a bun, ladle some chili over the top, sprinkle with cheddar cheese and onions and serve with corn chips.

Nice! Nothing beats a good chili dog. :)
I love football food! Sports and food, my two favorite things!
Ha...yes, everybody's good intentions at the beginning of the year are coming undone for Super Bowl. Then it'll be Valentine's Day. Argh! When does it stop? LOL
Okay you do know how to torture a person who is also being good! Thank goodness for vegetarian corny dogs and mustard!
Well you DO have to use moderation and mix it up. I knew a guy once upon a lifetime ago who used to say, "Everything in moderation including moderation itself." Cool quote huh? Football food can be tasty.
When the Panthers lost, the whole Super Bowl thing lost its potential luster for me. But that doesn't mean these have to go to waste!
Great foodball food! Hey, I had an award for you in my post on sunday, I'm not sure if you saw and I can't recall now if I left you a message about it or not. Trying to get organized :)
Delicious munchie food! Yum. I'm loving that crock pot.
Don't think I've ever had a chili dog actually. I did just make a fresh batch of chili, I should pick up some dogs. You know they're got these Hebrew National 97% fat free franks now? They're not bad at all actually, I've had them on several occasions.
I've had a chili dog before but they sound amazing!
YUM! I have that cookbook. I need to pull it down off the shelf and check it out again. At least you have a nice looking salad on the plate!
Yup moderation al right! Love chili dogs and what could be better than finding them ready to go in the crockpot!!
