Tuesday in food

After a forecast of rain yesterday, the majority of the day was beautiful and the "rain" turned out to be a few sprinkles. I was able to go for a walk this afternoon (albeit short) with my son as he rode his tricycle. He's a little wary of bike rides while mommy is walking after I took him on an hour and a half walk last week! It was still nice to get outside though.

Breakfast this morning was 1 c. shredded wheat, a banana mixed with about 1/8 c. frozen bluberries, 1 c. 2% milk, and coffee. This kept me going through today's minor crisis. Our cat decided to "do her business" on our bed this morning, so the morning consisted of taking our comforter to the laundromat and washing all of our bedding!

For lunch I had 1 c. bulgarian style cultured buttermilk. I just love the tanginess of it!
In addition to the buttermilk, I basically had a repeat of yesterday's lunch because those hummus snacker packs from Costco rock the house! The hummus is so good with raw veggies! I also had some grapes and 5 "thin cakes" (basically regular rice cakes cut smaller) that I found at our local Albertsons. I wanted to eat a little lighter at lunch because dinner was going to be at my MIL's and I always tend to overeat there.

I surprised myself at dinner. Even though I tend to overeat at my MIL's, I kept it in check tonight. (Major kudos to me!) Instead of potato chips and jello, I raided her fridge and made myself a spinach, tomato and avocado salad with green goddess dressing to go alongside a hamburger and a glass of nonfat milk. I was nicely satisfied, perhaps a little overly so, so I opted to not have dessert and instead go for a cup of decaf coffee. The fact that I'm not rolling after a dinner at my MIL's is a major step for me. I know I can't keep it up always, but one dinner at a time right?

Have a great evening everyone! See you tomorrow.

You have me crave for some smoothies!
Have you tried them with little whey? Pretty awesome too!
I don't eat any dessert after meal...if I did, then it would be just raw fruit.
Some celery sticks might be great too for the hummus.

I love hummus and carrots. My favorite combination.

I go crazy at my Moms when I am there. I have gotten much better though. Kudos to you for your progress!
